My Life On Postcards

Past

Dear Lilly, When I was writing to Livia the other day, telling her about my past, the time in my life that she is experiencing right now herself, I realised that I seem to remember very little. Memories have not only faded slightly, like the colours of a flag that has been exposed to rough and ever-changing weather conditions, but they seem to have disappeared entirely. They have gradually, almost unnoticeably, been washed away while I was focusing on the future, the time to come, the uncertainties in life. The desperation of being in control over my future has affected the memories of my past.
